It all started on a cold winter day in 1995 when a young man went to an event to hear some of the top speakers in the country.  Guys like Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Tom Hopkins and also people like Bob Dole, Colin Powell and General Norman Schwartzkopf. 

This young man was searching for answers on how to be a more profitable commercial real estate investor and was hoping that one of these people would have the answer or at least that ONE idea that would propel him to commercial real estate profits in a short period of time.

Would any one of these famous speakers have the key to success as a commercial real estate investor?

The short answer unfortunately was NO.  The speakers were great and provided a lot of great content that would be useful but unfortunately nothing was shared to assist this young man in becoming a profitable commercial real estate owner.

But, There Was ONE Guy…

After Colin Powell got done there was one more speaker left.  It had already been a long day and this young man was very tired and a bit discouraged.  He decided to leave.  But, just as he was getting up to leave the auditorium he heard a voice come over the speakers.  He will never forget what was said…

“In the next 30 minutes I am going to show you
how to add a minimum of $100,000 to your bottom line
over the next 12 months.”

When he heard this of course he thought it was a pretty bold claim.  How in the world can this guy do this especially in a half hour?   But, he decided to stay and listen since this was the only guy so far that said he was going to make him some serious money.  He decided to stay just a few more minutes.  

He stayed, he listened and do you want to know what happened next? 

HE PROFITED BIG TIME!

He went home and applied some of the strategies that this guy talked about and over the next year he added thousand of dollars to his bottom line!  For a commercial real estate investor this was very significant, especially since he was still wet behind the ears.  This was honestly the most realistic “no—hype” short cut that I have ever taken as a commercial real estate investor….

If you have not guessed by now the guy that attended this event was me.  This was one of the big stepping stones in my commercial investment real estate career. 

So, Who Was This “Other” Guy?  The Guy That Was A Huge Key To Commercial Property Success?
